dck9 > About DCK9
To educate, inspire and assist all levels of individuals in the Maryland, Virginia & Washington DC Metro area interested in competing in dog sports.
The DC Metro Working Dog Club strives to create a community of working/sport dog trainers, handlers, breeders and enthusiasts. We want a friendly, cooperative environment in which to train dogs that also fosters an encouraging, progressive approach for individuals of all levels.
DCK9 promotes the safety and responsibility of its human and canine members.
Ethan Hall - Training Director
Ethan has been training dogs for over 19 years and is graduate of the K9 Academy for Dog Trainers in Texas. He is currently the Training Director at Belquest Kennels and owner of Capitol Canine Services.
Neil Greenberg - Club President
Neil has been training dogs since 2000. He began trialing in UKC Obedience events and then began working Echo in Ringsport. He has since titled his dog Dami in PSA and has won awards for High Owner Trained Dog and High Protection Score in Trial.
Members of DCK9 are training alongside both professionals with years of dog handling experience and novice handlers and who are currently competing in protection sports.
As a member of DCK9, you will be part of a network of handlers and trainers who have similar personal and competitive goals. Trainers and dogs of similar ability will help improve your performance. Year-round training takes place in the Washington DC metro area.
Our trainers have encountered the same situations on the field that they are training dogs to encounter.
Whether it's bite work, obedience, odor detection or patrol work, DC Metro Working Dogs strives to produce the best results possible.
We would like to see as many working dogs as possible. DCK9 should be limited to serious dogs and handlers only. The DC Metro Working Dogs club is about functional, practical training and not the latest tricks used by 98% of the recreational pet world.
The only real requirement we have is that your dog works.
